1,000W Rear Hub. 20″ × 4″ Fat Tires. Front and Rear Suspension. The YVY C20 Mini Is the Lighter C20.

The YVY C20 Mini is a moto-style fat tire e-bike: a 1,000W rear hub motor, a removable 48V 15Ah battery, 20″ × 4.0″ tires, a front suspension fork and a rear hydraulic shock, on a one-piece frame. It is not a folding bike, and “Mini” is not about size: YVY’s own dimension sheets give it the same frame measurements as its 1,500W Upgraded C20 (69 in long, 33 in standover, riders 5′4″ to 6′2″), at 66 lb against 88 lb.

If you know the Ridstar Q20 Lite or Q20 Mini, this is the same 1,000W, 15Ah bike: Ridstar’s EU shop lists it as the YVY C20Lite, “same as Q20mini”, and Ridstar’s own Q20 Lite listing prints the same motor, battery, wheel size, brakes, gears and 330 lb load.

Who it suits: a rider 5′4″ to 6′2″ who wants the moto look, suspension at both ends and a battery that comes inside to charge, for trails, farm lanes and private land. It is a poor fit for a road commute, because its 1,000W motor is over the 500W the provincial e-bike rules converge on (legal note below).

Correction, October 6, 2026. Earlier versions of this page said the C20 Mini folds, printed folded dimensions, rated it IP65, named CST tires and embedded two reviews of a different, 16-inch bike. None of that came from YVY. The C20 Mini does not fold, YVY describes its weather protection as “IP5”, and the tires in YVY’s photos are Chao Yang. Every C20 Mini figure below is YVY’s or Ridstar’s, read October 6, 2026, or is labelled as ours.

What YVY prints, and where its own numbers disagree

  • Motor: “1000W brushless motor” in YVY’s text; two images on the same listing print 1,500W (one reads “1500w Peak Motor”). We list it as a 1,000W bike.
  • Battery: “48V 15.6AH” in one YVY paragraph and on its images, “48V 15Ah” in another; YVY Europe and Ridstar print 48V 15Ah. That is 720 or 749 Wh by our arithmetic.
  • Top speed: “28+++mph” and “30mph” (45 and 48 km/h) on YVY Australia; 25 mph on Ridstar’s Q20 Lite listing; “20MPH (unlock)” on YVY Europe.
  • Torque and climbing: “60-80 N.M” and 30° on YVY Australia’s images, 35° in its text; 75 N·m and 25° on YVY Europe.
  • Range: “up to 30 miles” electric and “60-80 miles” with assist, “25-35 miles”, “50 Miles” and “75 Miles” across YVY’s listings; 30 to 50 miles from Ridstar. Our physics estimate is in the range answer below.
  • Not published: the pedal-assist sensor type, a two-numeral IP code and an operating temperature range. One image on YVY Europe says the battery “complies to UL2849”; we have not seen a certificate.

⚠️ Canadian Legal Note: E-bike rules in Canada are provincial and territorial (the federal definition was repealed in 2021), and they converge on a 500W motor and 32 km/h of assistance with working pedals (Nova Scotia’s 30 km/h ended on 19 October 2026). YVY rates the C20 Mini’s motor at 1,000W, so at that rating it is not an e-bike under those rules, whatever speed it is set to; on a public road it would be treated as a motor vehicle, with the class depending on your province and the bike’s specifications. Plan to ride it off-road or on private land unless your province says otherwise. Canadian e-bike laws by province →  |  Bikes with a 500W-rated motor at Zeus: the Riding Times GT33 and Riding Times Z8 Pro (each ships set to 25 km/h; whether an adjustable cap qualifies is not settled).

Why the C20 Mini Sits Where It Does

YVY sells the C20 in several versions, and its own sheets give the C20 Mini and the 1,500W Upgraded C20 the same frame measurements. The Mini is the light one, and that shapes what it does well.

  • Lighter, same frame size. YVY’s sheets put the C20 Mini at 66 lb and the 1,500W Upgraded C20 at 88 lb, with identical frame measurements. Twenty-two pounds matter every time you lift the rear wheel onto a rack or walk the bike up a ramp.
  • Suspension at both ends. A front fork and a rear hydraulic shock under a long moto saddle and a 36-inch seat height.
  • The battery comes inside. The pack locks to the frame with a key and charges on or off the bike, so in winter it can charge and sit indoors while the bike stays in the shed.
  • Not a small-rider bike. The standover is 33 inches and YVY sizes it for riders 5′4″ and up. If “mini” brought you here because you are shorter, the Riding Times Z8 Pro below is the smaller frame (Riding Times: 130–180 cm).

Key Features

  • 1,000W brushless rear hub motor, 60–80 N·m. YVY rates the motor at 1,000W; its Australian listing’s motor image gives 60–80 N·m and its European listing 75 N·m. You ride it three ways, per YVY: pure electric on the throttle, pedal assist with five levels on the display, or pedal only. YVY claims climbs of 25° to 35° depending on the listing; we have not tested that.
  • Removable 48V battery with a key lock. 15Ah in most YVY and Ridstar listings (720 Wh), 15.6Ah in some (749 Wh). It charges on or off the bike in 5–6 hours (YVY; Ridstar says about 4–6). Lithium-ion cells give up usable energy in the cold, so store and charge the pack indoors in a Canadian winter; our range answer below puts numbers on that.
  • Front suspension fork and rear hydraulic shock. In YVY’s words, a “reinforced front suspension fork” and a “rear-mounted hydraulic shock absorber”; its fork image labels the fork hydraulic. YVY prints no travel figures.
  • 20″ × 4.0″ fat tires. About 23 inches across mounted (YVY’s wheel diameter), and branded Chao Yang in YVY’s photos. At 4.0 inches they are wider than the 3.7 inches that Minnesota DNR’s fat-bike guidance gives for deep snow; on ice, slow down whatever the tire.
  • Shimano 7-speed. A Shimano 7-speed thumb shifter, for pedalling with or without assist.
  • Mechanical disc brakes, front and rear. Cable-operated discs, plus a quick-release front wheel and reflectors (YVY). Cables stretch and pads wear, so check the lever travel as part of routine care.
  • LCD display, lights and horn. The display shows speed in mph or km/h, battery level, assist level and mileage; a round LED headlight, a tail light and a horn button on the switch pod round it out.
  • Phone holder and storage box. YVY includes a 7.2-inch phone holder and a storage box; its photos show a frame bag with a phone window.

Everything Included

  • YVY C20 Mini (YVY: “90% pre-assembled”)
  • Removable 48V battery and key
  • Charger
  • 7.2″ phone holder and storage box (YVY)
  • Pedals, assembly tool and manual (listed by Ridstar for the same bike)

YVY’s C20 Mini listing prints no full packing list, so the charger, pedals, tool and manual come from Ridstar’s listing for the same bike. If anything is missing on delivery, call 1-866-938-7580 or use our contact page with your order number.

The Honest Take: What We’d Change

  1. It is not an e-bike under the provincial rules. At 1,000W it is twice the 500W those rules converge on, and YVY prints top speeds of 28 to 30 mph. That makes it a trail, farm and private-land machine in most of Canada. For a 500W-rated alternative, look at the GT33 or Z8 Pro below (Riding Times ships both in a 25 km/h mode; whether an adjustable cap qualifies is not settled), and read our Canadian e-bike laws by province →
  2. Mechanical brakes on a bike this heavy and fast. We would rather have hydraulic discs on a 66-lb bike rated to 30 mph and 330 lb. The C20 Mini’s are cable-operated, so budget for cable and pad adjustments. The GT33 and the Raptor ST202 Pro below both have hydraulic discs.
  3. YVY’s spec sheet is loose. Its listings disagree on motor power, battery size, top speed, torque and range (the blue box above), and none names the sensor type. We print what YVY prints and label our own numbers; if one figure decides your purchase, call us first.

Those trade-offs are worth it for a rider who wants a moto-style fat tire bike with suspension at both ends at 66 lb, for trails and private land, and who reads the spec sheet as a guide rather than a promise.

Frequently Asked Questions

What riders ask about the C20 Mini

Is the YVY C20 Mini the same bike as the Ridstar Q20 Lite?

Yes, going by the makers’ own listings. Ridstar’s EU shop sells it as the YVY C20Lite and says it is “same as Q20mini”; YVY sells the same bike as the C20MINI in Australia and the C20 Lite in Europe, with the same photographs on both stores; and Ridstar’s own Q20 Lite listing prints the same motor, battery, wheel size, brakes, gears and 330 lb load (it lists a 25 mph top speed where YVY Australia prints 28 to 30). It is the 1,000W, 15Ah version of the C20: YVY’s dimension sheets give it the same frame measurements as the 1,500W Upgraded C20, at 66 lb against 88 lb. More history: Ridstar and YVY explained →

Does the YVY C20 Mini fold?

No. The frame is one piece: YVY’s photos show no hinge, its dimension sheet gives no folded size, and no YVY or Ridstar listing for this bike calls it folding. Earlier versions of this page said it folded; that was our error, corrected on October 6, 2026. If you need a bike that folds, see our folding e-bike guide →

How fast does the YVY C20 Mini go?

YVY Australia prints “up to 28+++mph” and “30mph” for it (45 and 48 km/h). Ridstar’s Q20 Lite listing for the same bike says 25 mph (40 km/h), and Ridstar’s EU shop says its top speed “can be limited to 25 km/h” for European roads. We have not speed-tested it. Whatever the setting, the motor is rated 1,000W, which is over the 500W the provincial e-bike rules converge on.

Is the YVY C20 Mini street legal in Canada?

Not as an e-bike at its rated power. Canada’s e-bike rules are provincial and territorial (the federal definition was repealed in 2021), and they converge on a 500W motor and 32 km/h of assistance with working pedals (Nova Scotia’s 30 km/h ended on 19 October 2026). YVY rates this motor at 1,000W, so on a public road it would be treated as a motor vehicle, with the class depending on your province and the bike’s specifications. US Class 1, 2 and 3 labels do not decide it here. Plan to ride it off-road or on private land unless your province says otherwise, and read our Canadian e-bike laws by province →

How far does the YVY C20 Mini go on a charge?

YVY’s listings print several figures, from “25-35 miles” to “60-80 miles” with pedal assist, and Ridstar says 30 miles on the throttle and 50 with assist (48 and 80 km). Our physics model, run on the maker’s figures (720 Wh, 66 lb, 4-inch tires) for a 170-lb rider on flat ground in still air with the throttle only, gives 56–70 km at 25 km/h, 39–49 km at 32 km/h and 19–25 km at 45 km/h at 20°C. At −10°C the same rides give 44–55, 30–38 and 14–19 km. Hills, wind, cargo and speed cut those numbers. We have not ride-tested it.

How much does the YVY C20 Mini weigh, and what are the seat height and weight limit?

YVY’s dimension sheet: 66 lb (30 kg), a 330 lb (150 kg) maximum load, a 36-inch seat height and a 33-inch standover, 69 inches long and 46 inches high, for riders 5′4″ to 6′2″ (163–188 cm). YVY’s European store prints 5′4″ to 6′4″ and Ridstar’s EU shop 158–195 cm. The tires are 20″ × 4.0″. At a 5′4″ minimum rider height it is not sized for children.

Does the YVY C20 Mini have hydraulic brakes, a throttle and a key? Is it waterproof?

The brakes are mechanical discs, front and rear. YVY lists a pure-electric (throttle) mode alongside pedal assist and pedal-only riding but does not say whether the throttle is thumb or twist. The battery locks to the frame with a key. For water, YVY’s wording is “IP5 waterproof protection” and a “waterproof LCD display”; an IP code has two numerals (solids, then liquids), so “IP5” does not tell you which water test it passed. Avoid pressure washers and deep water.

Does the YVY C20 Mini come assembled, and is there a manual?

YVY says its bikes ship “90% pre-assembled”. Ridstar’s listing for the same bike puts a charger, a manual, an assembly tool and pedals in the box; YVY’s C20 Mini listing prints no packing list, and we found no C20 Mini manual on the YVY and Ridstar pages we checked. For assembly help, call 1-866-938-7580 or reach us through our contact page with your order number.

Are there reviews of the YVY C20 Mini?

Not on this listing yet, and YVY Australia’s listing shows none either. The two video reviews this page used to embed were of a different, 16-inch bike, so we took them down. Call 1-866-938-7580 and we will tell you plainly whether it suits the way you ride.

Can I buy the YVY C20 Mini in Canada?

Yes. We sell it with free shipping across Canada: orders are processed in 1–3 business days and arrive in 2–7, depending on where you live (no P.O. boxes; remote communities, please call first).
